What is Pasāda?

Pasāda is the clear, bright quality of a mind that has settled like still water — luminous, tranquil, and naturally inclined toward serene confidence and joy. It comes from Pāli, the language of Theravāda Buddhism.

Taking Buddhist precepts in Toronto in 1994

In 1994, I took Buddhist precepts with Ven. Samu Sunim at the Toronto Zen Buddhist Temple. During the precepts ceremony, I was given the name Pasāda. Hence the name of this website.
